Adding powerpoints
Oct 27 2007, 8:53 AM EDT
What is the best way to include a powerpointpresentation? I have used www.slideshare.net and uploaded the powerpoint to my wiki, but I can't close it when the presentation is finished. (http//:healthandsocial.wetpaint.com). Can anyone suggest what I am missing here or a better way of doing things?
Thanks

you can always attatch them to the bottom of the page. it's pretty lo-tech, but doesnt really have any hitches that ive noticed. of course, that won't put it on your site actually, but that might be best if it cant be closed if its on ur wiki. i dont know. thats what i do. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. This is a topic that has come up before at Wetpaint Central. In this forum a possible method was discussed. Wetpaintcentral.com is the place that will have more of the tech questions. Here is a link to the forum I mentioned:

Hope this helped.
Happy Painting!

I uplosd my PPT's to www.mediafire.com (it's free") and then copy the link text and post it on my Powerpoint link page. Then they just click on it and download. works great! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I've been using snapdrive.com, its got a 2GB limit, pretty high but mediafire.com looks even more promising. Thanks! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Why do you feel the need to close it? Slideshare, spresent, splashcast - all are good choices. You've got to let go of the need to control the closing of it.

Google Documents is another option. Go to http://docs.google.com to signup or sign in (If you have a Google account already).

You would have to link to the Slideshow.

I used Adobe Presenter (formerly Breeze) software to record lecture as a meeting where I shared my computer screen. Then I posted a link to each meeting on a Lecture Recordings page (see http://physiwiki.wetpaint.com/page/Lecture+Recordings). Of course, this was not free--I had to have the Adobe software. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I convert my PowerPoints to MPEGs with a free downloadable software. Then, I upload them into Google Video and then add them to my wiki site. As long as my students have some sort of media player install on their machine, they have no problems view the presentation. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I second the Google docs option. Publish presentation and embed as a widget. Its quick and easy. Do you find this valuable?

I have an idea it might work. On your powerpoint if you add an hyperlink back to the page that you attach the powerpoint to. its just an idea i don't know if it will work.
