Sign in problems
Oct 1 2009, 2:47 PM EDT | Post edited: Oct 1 2009, 2:47 PM EDT
This summer I started a Wetpaint wiki that I'm now using to teach a first-year "seminar in academic inquiry" at a a four year liberal arts college.

I sent invites to all my students, but only 33 of the 41 can sign in. Some have created user IDs, but can't use them to sign in. I have circulated the Wetpaint help page that advises what browsers to use, and to clear cookies and cache.

I obviously can't support these students, but who can? Wiki participation is essential to the course, "Internet, Society and Everyday Life," and to the student grades. I have invested the startup costs in having Wetpaint host the site (and they have graciously removed ads). Lastly, I would very much like to present about our class's use of a wiki at a conference coming up later this fall.
Do you find this valuable?

I have sites set up for my English students. I am having the same problem with a small group of students in one class. No one can sign in. They receive a message that they are already members. When they go to the site, they are told that this is a private wiki and they must be invited. I have invited them all. Do you find this valuable?
