Limit on responses to threads
Feb 23 2009, 12:33 PM EST
I was in the middle of responding to a student's comment on my Tutoring Writers class wiki, and it told me I couldn't post anything larger than a short note--I think it was a hundred characters.Later, one of my students mentioned having the same problem. I'm a writing teacher, and I use the wikis to encourage my students to write to real audiences. Having such small limits on thread postings does not jibe with my pedagogical objectives. Is there any way this sort of thing can be lifted or extended? Or, is it a temporary glitch like the ads that reappeared on education sites and then disappeared? I notice I'm not being told right now that this comment is too long. Thanks for any help! Do you find this valuable?

That's interesting...I've never hear of 100 character limit before. Everything seems to be working now. Maybe there are some trolls in the Internet? Gmail was just down for a couple minutes as well. Keep me posted if you continue to have issues with your site.
