Student User Logons
Apr 27 2008, 12:55 AM EDT Hi Mr Bartels, I've just created a Wetpaint Wiki for my Grade 5 class. Do you know if there is a way I can create user logons for each of my students, rather than 'inviting' them via email. The emails go to their parents. I'm afraid if I send the 'invite' to parents, most parents won't be bothered creating a Wetpaint user account for their child, and hence that child won't be able to log in. Is there a way of me being able to create a user logon for each child? Kind regards Tricia (Australia) 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 27 2008, 1:21 AM EDT Addendum: of course I will receive permission by parents that their children can participate first!! Just trying to simplify the logon process. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Student User Logons
May 14 2008, 2:31 PM EDT I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you. I hope this response is not too late. Let share with you how I have students join my private class sites. I create the site and leave it open until my students join (which is all done in one class meeting… ideally). Once all of my students are on, I lock the site down to be private. If you have a list of parent’s e-mail, that would work great. You could help the students create their accounts in class, and the parents could stay informed. You also might want to have the students write down their usernames and passwords for you so that you will have a master list of the students in your class. I hope that this has helped, let me know how it goes! Happy Painting, Jonathan 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 3 2008, 10:14 AM EDT I had a similar question since I want to use my wiki with my third grade class. When it asks for an e-mail address, did you put the parent's e-mail address? Do you find this valuable? |
