China - UK -Chicago Collaborative project
Apr 20 2008, 9:50 AM EDT Hi, I am co-ordinating a collaborative art exhibition between students in China, UK & Chicago. I have set up a wiki and sent out invitations. The first Chinese person to try to join has encounterd problems. I don't know exactly what sort of problems - I am waiting to hear more from her. Do you know if wetpaint wikis are accessible in China? Another problem I have encountered is problems logging on to the site from our school network. I think this must have something to do with the school's internet security measures, but our technicians have not been able to solve the problem yet. Do you have any suggestions about this? I'd really appreciate any help or information you could offer Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 21 2008, 8:23 PM EDT ArtsAtTheEdge- I'm sorry to let you know that the Chinese government blocks wetpaint.com URLs...meaning users within China cannot access any sites on our network. As for your troubles at school--it does sound like our domain (wetpaint.com) is blocked by your school's IP address--and this is something that they need to address. I wish I could be more helpful, but I'm afraid that this will continue to be an issue until we are unblocked in china. Michaelbeezner Do you find this valuable? |

RE: China - UK -Chicago Collaborative project
Apr 22 2008, 4:43 PM EDT Thanks for letting me know. That's really disappointing for me. I will continue to run my collaborative art exhibition using my wiki for the benefit of schools & students in the UK & in Chicago, but I will have to find another way of hosting the final exhibition so that pupils in China can view it. I am not a web designer & we don't have much of a budget. I would really appreciate any ideas you might have for transfering content from our wiki to another web format that is accessible in China. Do you find this valuable? |
