Who qualifies for an ad-free wiki?

The following uses of education wikis qualify for ad-free status:

Middle/High School, University, and Grad School Classrooms (ages 13+)
Group projects and assignments given by a teacher as part of a class curriculum
Dissertations, portfolios, and other displays of students’ work in school
Wikis created by educators to connect with parents

How to Apply

If you haven't already, create your wiki, then send an email to education@wetpaint.com and include the following information:

Please give us up to 48 hours to review your site and disable the ads.

Our group for TSLE 7250 visited consulates located in Atlanta for Spain, Guatemala, Columbia, Israel, and Nigeria. This page will contain descriptions of our experiences visiting each consulate, and our thoughts on how visits by citizens of the mentioned countries to the consulates might differ from our own.
We plan to explore:

How local communities support the learning of a second language, and how they support the maintenance of a first language.

The reasons why culture is so important to teaching and learning.
What teachers can do to support he maintenance of home language and culture while pursuing the teaching of English as a second language in class.

Jeff Utecht is an educational technology consultant. He has been working in the Asia region since 2005, prior to that he worked in the Middle East and the United States. Currently Jeff is working as a Technology and Learning Coordinator for the International School of Bangkok. In June of 2008 Jeff became an Educational Ambassador for Wetpaint. Jeff regularly shares his thoughts on education and technology on his blog, thethinkingstick.com. His blog was rated one of the top 100 educational blogs by the Online Educational Database. His blog was also featured in the book Reinventing Project-Based Learning as an avenue for “free online professional development”. They also have a blog where each of them can reflect on the learning and the process that they are going through.

I run a nonprofit education resource organization -- Learning is for Everyone - and I've long been interested in mentoring as way to build true community-based learning. Most mentoring programs I've found are for disadvantaged or troubled youth. I believe mentoring can benefit all youth (and those who mentor them!), and that many in our community would be happy to mentor if they had the opportunity. So I put Tampa Bay Mentor Match together to test my theory. :-) I'd appreciate others' thoughts and ideas.

I posted pictures of their 'Geotopias'. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the wiki to view the persuasive writing brochures and newsletters exclaiming and persuading their classmates all the reasons why their Geotopia is the perfect place to live and/or visit!
pleft	Going flexible	This is a simple text-based game I've developed in Mediawiki. It's designed as a problem-based learning resource for teachers learning about designing online courses.
Matt	<sorry, private wiki>	I've just set up a private wiki that fellow Specialist Classroom Teachers across several schools can use to discuss issues. Wiki needs to be private because of confidentiality. So wetpaint was ideal.
Ms. Birdsey	Littlewood's Nature Guide	This is on-line nature guide is maintained by 5th grade students and highlights the plants and animals found at our school's environmental center.
Elke	writing homework in a wiki (in Dutch)	My class looks up their homework assignments on the wiki, write their story, and edit and comment on someone else's story. Then they read the comments on their own story and edit it.
