Looking Back, Looking Forward

With holiday break around the corner, it's a great time to share some reflections on the first half of the school year and to provide parents and students with a look at what's to come in 2008.

Have your own ideas to contribute?
Share them below!

Looking Back:
  • Create a list of the topics covered in class
  • Create polls for the students and parents to take (favorite topics, assignments, etc.)
  • Post photos and highlights of class field trips and events
  • Create a study guide of material covered for easy access if studying for finals in the spring
  • Showcase Portfolios (individual student's "best of" work)
  • <insert your idea here!>

The Present:
  • Keeping working documents and records
  • Put up any assignments for over Winter Break or major projects that students could be working on over the break (or keep activities going during snow days)
  • <insert your idea here!>

Looking Forward:

  • Give a sneak peek at what's on the agenda for next year
  • Offer students and parents the opportunity to shape next semester by creating a discussion thread or poll
  • Create a calendar of key dates in 2008
  • Information about any upcoming standardized test that may be on the horizon
  • <insert your idea here!>

Perhaps a study guide of what was covered would be nice- with final exams in the spring this could really help. But it could fall under Topics Covered, I just thought I'd be a bit more specific.
