Windows Moviemaker will be utilised by a year 7 class to demonstrate the knowledge they have gained during the SOSE topic of Time, continuity and change. Students will create a short film of approximately 2-3 minutes to present to the class summarising what has been discussed in their classroom about “the events from pre-colonisation to Federation, including Indigenous heritages, European colonisation, frontier conflicts, the development of the economy, and the Federation movement and how they have established the Australian nation and contributed to Australian identities.” (QSA, 2007) The presentation should contain images, music and video footage which support each other and are appropriate to the topic, and should also display the use of self-discovered functions of Windows Moviemaker. In addition, the presentation must also demonstrate the student’s ability to create and communicate using Windows Moviemaker.
